It’s probably pretentious, or cliche, (or both?) to quote Marshall McLuhan. So I’ll let the work speak for itself. As a 15-year ad vet, I’ve developed an approach pushing my work to be a strategic combination of creative, audience, and medium insights. I started out in a more traditional role, then pivoted to digital in a baptism of fire by creating my own agency in Las Vegas, and most recently created bleeding-edge digital executions targeting a teen audience that knows nothing else. This approach demands collaboration, curiosity, attention to detail, and above all — creativity in problem solving, story-telling, and selling-in ideas.
Some accomplishments aren’t recognized in awards, but firsts. And these are just a few I’ve stacked up.
The first ever branded YouTube homepage takeover.
A branded Snapchat integration considered a keystone moment in the platform’s history.
A never-been-done integration with GIPHY that required collaboration between the client, platform, agency, NFL, NFLPA, and 8 individual athletes and teams.
The first VR game to incorporate real throwing mechanics and a volumetric capture pro athlete.
The first video content piece to be recognized in Communication Arts’ Photography Annual.
The first live sports broadcast on Twitter that allowed the audience to participate in real time.
A first-of-its-kind Facebook Messenger bot delivering bespoke football drills based on experience and position.
A branded Spotify integration that changed your playlist dynamically not just based on pace, but intensity.
The longest Opening Day first pitch in MLB history.
Ultimately, all of this has given me an appreciation for the process of doing things nobody has ever done before. It’s messy and challenging, but in the end it’s incredibly rewarding for the agency, clients, and creative teams.
